The Demand for Acreage-Size Plots Has Doubled As People Look For More Spacious Places in Natural Surroundings

Mr. Henderson shared what was previously an occasional visit of people during weekends or holidays to these suburbs is now becoming a more regular trend as people buy big plots for houses. The permanent house in areas where one would occasionally visit is becoming the new norm as commuting considerations are diminishing because of more lenient work-from-home policies.
Northern Rivers agents such as Janis Perkins – Real Estate of Distinction and Gary Walsh from First National Alstonville report the Byron Bay Shire has had a positive influx of Sydney people wanting to escape the city life and head for the serene lifestyle only the nNorthern Rivers has to offer.
One of the major considerations behind people moving to suburbs and regional areas is the availability of big plots that can be used to build majestic mansions or recreational farm houses. Because of these options, more and more people are buying these big blocks of land.
1714 blocks of land were sold that were less than 2400 sqm while the bigger blocks exceeded 3500 in number. Only in the past year, the sales of bigger plots that are more than 2400 sqm increased from 3785 to 15213 – a record 14.3 percent increase in a year. The sales of big blocks of land have increased two times as compared to the plots that are comparatively smaller. With this increased preference for big plots, the prices have also increased, and big estate properties are now worth millions.
This brings to forefront all the areas that have acreage-size plots. Tallebudgera and Currumbin valleys are now the focus of attention because of the big estate houses, and accessibility to beach in half an hour. Because of this increasing trend, there are many other places near the Gold Coast including Guanaba that are catching more and more attention.
